Inky Edition of the Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news - A post to recap the past week on my blog. Showcase books and things I may have received. Share a bit of news about myself and what to expect on my blog in the upcoming week.

Everyday Life:

Okay, I did it. On Saturday morning I turned the heater on. I came downstairs and my husband was wearing sweatpants, a hoodie and a beanie, the inside house temperature was 64 degrees. I talked to my mom and she said it was snowing in Wyoming, I wish I was there. I do love snow, if I’m indoors.

I had a good week reading/listening, two books and three audiobooks. Usually I only get through one audiobook, A Good Marriage was only three hours… shocking for Stephen King. Most of my listening time was spent cleaning house and changing the look of my blog. I just barely finished last evening with some html stuff… ugh. With any luck I won’t get too bored with this design and have the need to change it any time soon.

I’m slowing trying to catch up on posting reviews. In January, I made the decision not to write about every book that I read. I went through my files and deleted those that I had no interest in sharing or sadly, if I couldn’t remember what the book was about. Don’t mind me if I happen to post a couple reviews each day… I’m optimistic. I would be thankful for posting two a week.

What I’m currently reading/listening to:

The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting
Lilah isn't sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career, or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she's no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.

Ethan Kane wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.

Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let him in, though, she finds out their reunion has nothing to do with her and everything to do with his game. But Ethan's already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he'll do anything to keep from losing her again.

What I read/listened to this past week:

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory ⭐⭐⭐
Pretty Little Things by T.M.E. Walsh – My Review ⭐⭐⭐

Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough ⭐⭐⭐
A Good Marriage by Stephen King ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Under Locke by Mariana Zapata (a re-read, second time) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stacking the Shelves #55:

    1. It's always fun to change the design every so often, I always struggle with html stuff. We're having damp weather here today, makes it feel extra cold. Little Avery didn't want to go outside this morning, he
      's a warm weather dog!

  2. Well done Jovita! That's great how many books you got through.

I'm also looking forward to reading Kiersten White's new book. Perfect for Halloween!

  3. I've got a lot of books rated from when I abandoned them in 2011 without doing a review. They sit on my Goodreads page looking all sad and I remember nothing about them! Maybe I should give up and delete them. I also have books with reviews that I want to rewrite and make better but that means series rereads that I have no time for! Ugh!

    1. I couldn't imagine rewriting, like you, I barely have time now to write one. I do like to re-read books every so often, especially when I get in a reading slump. I need to learn how to manage my time. Have a wonderful day.

  5. It's cold here in MN, too, but not snowing yet. At least not here...I heard rumor that the North might get some snow. We've had our heater on all week.

  8. I have a copy of The Wedding Date that I won in a giveaway, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet! It seems you had meh feelings, but I'm still anxious to read it for myself. A few of the others you mentioned are on my TBR, and others I need to look up on Goodreads.

It's still pretty hot in Texas. We've gotten a little rain today, but not much to make a big difference. I'm ready for the cold!

    1. I liked The Wedding Date, the beginning was great and the ending. The middle was a bit repetitive. I took me awhile to warm up to Drew, but I loved Alexa. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think about The Wedding Date. Hopefully you get some relieve from the hot weather.

  9. Yes!! I put the heater on for the first time this week too. Just one time so far thankfully.
I love the new blog look! Very pretty.

  10. OMG JOVITA I LOVE THIS DESIGN IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL. New Blogger Templates does some AMAZING adaptations of the WordPress themes and I loved the theme I used when I was on Blogger (people thought I was on WordPress as well, so I guess that's an accomplishment?).

Making the decision not to write about every book is probably the best decision you'll ever make - I did the same thing about a year ago and gave up on those I started in 2016 but know full well I have no interest in writing a review. It's a lot less stressful and I'm enjoying it.

    1. Thank you Sophia. Yes, I've been using them for years. I actually bought a design last year from a designer and I like it for awhile, but wanted a change. I kept that blog design longer because I paid a lot more it. This time around I went back to New Blogger Templates and only paid $10 for the Pro-Version so I can have access to make changes to the design.

I would rather like to read and/or participate in weekly memes than write book reviews. I'm making my list manageable, until I'm caught up with those I would like to share.

      Have a wonderful day!

    1. I was pretty excited this morning because it was snowing. It's been rain/snow mixed most of the day. I do need all the luck, I still haven't wrote one review. Have a wonderful day AJ, stay warm.

  12. Your heater is on? And it's actually snowing somewhere? Gah! I want to be where you are! :) Every day I bemoan the fact that it's still in the 80's here (FL). I'm so over it. I've seen such mixed reviews of Cross Her Heart. I've seen several people say they were disappointed by it.

  13. No heat yet, but the weather is JUST starting to get cold. My family tends to keep the heat off as long as we can, so we'll just bundle up in lots of blankets for awhile. haha Looks like you read some good books; I have not read any of them.

  14. I put jeans and a three quarters sleeve shirt on today. We've got rain the last couple days and I've been in heaven as a result. I do love the rain! The flash flood warnings, not so much--but luckily my area hasn't been affected by those. It sounds like you had a good reading week! I need to dedicate some time to writing reviews--I'm about five behind right now, I think. :-( I hope you are enjoying your new books! Have a wonderful week!
