Inky Edition of the Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news - A post to recap the past week on my blog. Showcase books and things I may have received. Share a bit of news about myself and what to expect on my blog in the upcoming week.

Everyday Life:

I normally don’t say the word ‘hate’ very often because it seems so final. Today I’m going to use it.

I HATE humidity.

This week past week we’ve been spending time in Illinois to celebrate my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary. Early in my marriage, I made the mistake of coming to visit Illinois in July and almost died, at least I felt that way. Since my near-death experience with humidity, I have never come back to visit in the Summer. So here I am, feeling like I’m near death once again, struggling with staying cool.

Besides the humidity, we are having a wonderful time. My husband comes from a big family and it’s wonderful that all my in-law’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren could come celebrate. It’s always great getting us all together, we have so much fun. Bryans’ sister and husband owns the Outdoors Sportsman’s Lodge and was kind enough to accommodate the entire family in their cabins.

We had a huge firework show this evening (thanks to my husband). Tomorrow we will be taking a family photo and then we have a priest coming for a special mass celebration.

  1. Your family get- together sounds great (except for the humidity)! I'm not a fan of humidity, although I suppose no one is, right? And it does get surprisingly bad here in the upper Midwest, I have to agree. Hope you have a great rest of your trip.

    Baby teeth was a trip!

  2. Oh wow yes, I believe you on humidity. We barely have high humidity here where I live, but once or twice we did and I didn't even know how to breathe during those days, basically. It's just... It's not even the heat, it's the fact that breathing doesn't quite work. Like a weight on your chest. Ugh.

Hope you have a good week!

  4. Humidity is not my friend either! I had a nasty experience with it in the US though that was just May in Dallas! I like my milder UK climate thank you very much!

  5. We lived in Arizona for 11 years. Not much humidity there... but it does get to be 110º or more a lot there. I'm not sure which you would like better.

It's nice to be able to visit family though. I wish I could visit mine more often than I do.

  6. I agree with you on the humidity. I went to grad school in Kentucky and constantly felt like I was sweating to death. Summer was SO AWFUL. I was always excited to come home to Colorado. Enjoy your trip. Have a good week.

  7. I live in Missouri and the humidity is horrible right now. Every time we walk the dogs I complain to my husband about how sticky it is outside. I hope you are having fun with family. It sounds like a good time. Enjoy your new books!

  8. I totally agree with you on humidity. The city I used to live before, basically in the whole North India, the humidity is quite high in summers. But I so glad that now I have moved to a city where it is almost null.

But it seems like you had a great time with your family. It is always fun to meet the whole family and celebrate :)

    Have a lovely week :)
