A little of this and a little of that.

Inky Edition of the Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news - A post to recap the past week on my blog. Showcase books and things I may have received. Share a bit of news about myself and what to expect on my blog in the upcoming week.

Everyday Life:

This past week my sister and I are spent time with my parents in Wyoming. It was wonderful spending time with my parents and two of my brothers. We did a little shopping and too much eating.

Last summer a feral cat started coming around my parents’ house to visit. He was so sad looking, skinny and had a terrible bloody infection on his tail. My dad started feeding him and getting the kitty familiar with being touched. Once he became familiar with my dad, he took the kitty to the vet for vaccinations, neutering and the infected tail cropped. Now the kitty loves to be groomed and rubs all over those that he is familiar with. He doesn’t run away anymore when my fur babies come to visit.

Since he spent so much time outdoors, he is still hesitant to come into the house. He’ll come in for about 10 minutes and then wants back outside. This last winter my sister made kitty an insulated cat house with electricity and a pressure sensitive warming mat, for the garage.

Since kitty doesn’t like spending time indoors, we spent this past week making his cat house weather proof for outside use. It was a busy week and I’m not sure how many times I’ve cut my fingers on the aluminum, and I was wearing gloves.

The photo below is my sister adding a motion sensor led light. We still need to work on his ‘window’, I think it needs to be replaced.

What I am currently reading/listening to:

It’s been a very busy week at my parents that I haven’t had much reading time. I’m surprised that I’m still reading the same book as last week. I only have a few chapters left and I’m looking forward to moving onto the second book.

Her father is The King of England.

She is The Controversial Princess.

Regarded as down to earth by the press and rebellious by The King, Princess Adeline refuses to bow to the royal expectations her title carries. She knows better than anyone that the united front of the royal family is nothing but smoke and mirrors - lies and secrets masked by power and privilege. She wants no part of it, and she will never surrender to The King’s demand to marry a man she does not love. But despite Adeline’s determination to retain her free will, she remains deeply unfulfilled, feeling caged and suffocated.

That is until she meets Josh Jameson. Drawn in by his confidence, Adeline is soon captivated by the scandalously sexy American actor. His ability to penetrate her defenses overwhelms her - his touch is pure fire, and his allure overpowering. Nothing has ever made her feel so alive in a world where she’s otherwise slowly drowning. However, while Josh may be Hollywood royalty, he’s not actual royalty, and Adeline knows The King and his advisors will do everything in their power to keep them apart.

But Josh Jameson becomes the princess’s ultimate vice.

And although she bows to no one, she bows to him.

This book is crazy! I’m listening to it on audiobook format and Hanna is freaking me out.

Sweetness can be deceptive.

Meet Hanna.

She’s the sweet-but-silent angel in the adoring eyes of her Daddy. He’s the only person who understands her, and all Hanna wants is to live happily ever after with him. But Mommy stands in her way, and she’ll try any trick she can think of to get rid of her. Ideally for good.

Meet Suzette.

She loves her daughter, really, but after years of expulsions and strained home schooling, her precarious health and sanity are weakening day by day. As Hanna’s tricks become increasingly sophisticated, and Suzette's husband remains blind to the failing family dynamics, Suzette starts to fear that there’s something seriously wrong, and that maybe home isn’t the best place for their baby girl after all.

What I read/listened to this past week:

 Not a darn thing.

  3. Wow what a neat story about the feral cat! He definitely came to the right place! You guys have him all set for winter, sounds like. And I love how your dad earned his trust and now he's in good shape. So nice. :)

    1. My dad loves animals. When I was growing up he would always bring home strays and such. We always had pets through the years. Yes, kitty is in great shape and very spoiled.

  4. Yeah the cat came to the right place, I agree with Greg on that! I must admit I'm not a cat person at all!

    1. I'm allergic to cats. I pet him, but I have to make sure I wash up before I touch anything. Cats are nice and all but I'm all about the dogs.

    1. I hope he likes it also and keeps him warm when it gets colder out. My sister was luring him into it with kitty treats, he must have gained a few pounds. Have a great week AJ.
