Inky Edition of the Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news - A post to recap the past week on my blog. Showcase books and things I may have received. Share a bit of news about myself and what to expect on my blog in the upcoming week.

Everyday Life:

This past week the weather in Colorado was beautiful, even with the faithful afternoon thunderstorms but last night it was chilly. I had to go track down a hoodie to wear and I was considering turning the heat on. We usually wait until after Mother’s Day to plant our annuals, good thing I waited a bit longer this year. On Friday there was a hail storm and I was so worried about my newly bloomed trees and lilac bush, compared to other areas in town we didn’t get as much. In some areas of Colorado Springs, it looked like winter again with the hail covered grass.

I went with my sister to Barnes & Noble and I browsed all my favorite sections. I was so tempted to buy all the newest releases that I’ve missed out on and it didn’t help that I had coupons. I’m happy to report that I was able to control myself. Other than that, I had a wonderful week.

What I am currently reading/listening to:

Very Valentine (Valentine #1) by Adriana Trigiani (audiobook)
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

What I read/listened to this past week:

Before I Let You Go by Kelly Rimmer (audiobook)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
See Me by Nicholas Sparks
⭐⭐⭐

⭐⭐⭐
On Turpentine Lane by Elinor Lipman
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stacking the Shelves:

I only borrowed one audiobook from the library. The link below is to original post from yesterday.

Very Valentine (Valentine #1) by Adriana Trigiani
The adventures of an extraordinary and unforgettable woman as she attempts to rescue her family's struggling shoe business and find love at the same time, Very Valentine sweeps the reader from the streets of Manhattan to the picturesque hills of la bella Italia. Already a national bestseller, here is a valentine from the incomparable Trigiani that you can take into your heart.

Last week on the blog:

Nothing… I’m a lazy bum.

Fur Baby Photos:

Poor little Avery had his teeth cleaned Friday and when he returned home, he was a very needy lazy fur baby. He had to wear the “Cone of Shame” the first night, he kept licking at the shaved area on his front legs. The last photo is him trying to sleep on the comfy chair back, he likes to lay there when I read. I add blankets along the top, so he doesn’t slip down the back cushion/pillow.

Thank you for visiting and I have a lovely week ahead.

  1. Aww poor Avery. :) Hope he's doing better now. And the weather here's been much the same- kinda rainy and stormy this week although no hail at least! Hope you have a great week ahead!

  2. Aww poor fur baby! Teeth cleaning is always so stressful, especially when they get the cone of of shame.

Nice haul this week! Meghan March is super popular!

  5. Awe Avery is so cute. My yorkie Buster hates having his teeth cleaned. I actually put him on a dental diet (science diet) so he wouldn't have so many cleanings required. He has been doing good so far.
We wish we lived in Colorado. My Miguel used to live there and I just know we will end up living there some day. Maybe. We live in Connecticut now and last week we had some hail storms and a Macro-burst that messed up a large part of the state. We went driving around yesterday and saw loads of downed trees. Some people are still without power almost a week later. Glad to hear you have had some nice weather.
Good job on not buying all the books at the bookstore. I know the temptation is tough. I am in the process of opening an independent bookstore and I hope the temptation is just as tough for my customers. Lol!
Enjoy your new reads and have a great week!

    1. Thank you Karen. I love Yorkie's, hopefully one day I can get a poodle mixed. My son's girlfriend has two Yorkie's and they are the cutest. Oh no, poor little Buster, I didn't know Science Diet had food for dental. Both my babies are eating Science Diet Rx id, for digestion, our Cockapoo Toby has a sensitive stomach because of his gall bladder.

I'm so envious, I would love, love, to own an independent bookstore. Yes, temptation is tough, good think I'm only doing this ban until the end of June ;) Enjoy your upcoming opening and hopefully none of your customers are on book buying bans ;)

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day.

  6. Awww...what a cutie! I am sure that the cone was not appreciated. Hail can be scary. I hope you didn't have any damage from it. How are you liking Eleanor Oliphant? I really enjoyed that one. Have a great week!

    1. A couple years ago there was a horrible hail storm in the Springs. Windshields and home windows broken, some of houses with siding had holes in them. It was crazy, we were very lucky and the damage we had was to outside garden. No damage this time around, it was pea size where we live.

I just started Eleanor Oliphant, only one chapter in. I heard it is a great. My mom read it and she said she really enjoyed it. Have a great week Carole.

  7. Can I just say I'm a little jelly? I keep seeing a bunch of people saying its been rainy and stormy and winter like and I'm just dying in 100 degree heat. I want some glorious rain! Lol.

What you described is exactly why I haven't gone near my Barnes & Noble! I want certain new releases super badly but I know I will get them if I set foot in the store. Lol.

I hope you have a great week! :)

    1. Arizona is a bit hot and dry, hoping you get some rain soon or you can go hang out in a pool. I have two nieces that live in Arizona and when they come to visit, they're cold when it's in the 80's here.

The first couple weeks it was hard, I avoid all book stores and aisle. Now I can go in and browse but it's a struggle to come out with nothing. I sound like an addict.

Have a great week and try to stay cool.

  9. I live in Colorado, too, and it’s been raining pretty much nonstop where I live. Hopefully that means we won’t have watering restrictions this summer. I hope your dog feels better soon. He’s so cute! Have a good week!
