Stacking the Shelves #11

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and co-hosted by Reading Reality. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves; may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course e-books.

I am so proud of myself this week, I stayed far away from the book aisles at Walmart and Target, I didn’t want any temptation. I made sure not to stop in at Barnes and Nobel just to browse and no visiting thrift stores on half priced Saturday.

I did visit Amazon and added a few books to my Kindle this week:

Veiled Innocence by Ella Frank – Another teacher/student romance, I’m a sucker for those.

“I think about you all the time. I can't stop."Shaking my head, I ran my palm over my wet face. This couldn't be happening to me. I would not allow it. I knew better.
"Addison, it's natural to form attachments to your teachers.""Is it natural to picture them fucking you?”
― Ella Frank, Veiled Innocence

Ruby Scott is months behind on rent and can’t seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed—and then coughed on—her at a party the night before.

Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity; a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he’s out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick.

Jaybird by M.A. Foster – I had my eye on this one.

A year ago, Jayla King, had the world at her fingertips. A loving family. Two amazing best friends. A promising music career. And the heart of the only boy she’s ever loved. But then everything changed and her world came crashing down around her.

A year ago, Zach Easton thought he had it all. A promising football career, friends, and after the best summer vacation of his life, he had the girl of his dreams. His girl. Or so he thought.
After professing their love to each other, she disappeared without a word.

Now she’s back and living in his hometown.
And Zach wants answers.

And the audiobook I borrowed from the library:

Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires #1) by Larissa Ione – This is a little weird… I listened to the audiobook Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout, the narrator, Amy Landon, is also the narrator for this book as well.

The author is new to me, I always have enjoyed adult paranormal vampire books so I took the chance. I did see on Goodreads that Larissa Ione has quite a few paranormal series that look very interesting. Have you read any of her books?

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has added to their shelves this week.

Even though we had a snowstorm and a couple nights of freeze warnings a few weeks ago, the peonies managed to survive. I really enjoy when my peonies bloom, I do not enjoy the wasps that the peonies attract.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, thank you for visiting and happy reading -J

    1. Peonies are so easy to care for here in Colorado, my husband is tired of seeing peonies pop up every year, this year I brought home a few Columbine to plant. Have a wonderful week :)

  6. Your photos are beautiful. Great haul this week. I try to stay out of stores myself but it is hard to pass up some of the kindle deals. Enjoy your new books!
