A little of this and a little of that.

It's My Party

Today is my daughters 15th birthday; I still cherish those memories of holding her in my arms while she was sleeping. How time flies, I can’t believe that soon Riley will be eligible for drivers permit. Next week while Bryan is off we’re going to celebrate in Denver, dinner at Hard Rock Café, shopping at 16th Street Mall and then dessert at the Cheesecake Factory… all her favorite places to visit.

It's My Party

This is the card I made for Riley using the image It’s My Party. One of Riley’s favorite colors is black and it was a challenge to come up with a cute card, using black and keeping it girly at the same time. I typically add Liquid Appliqué to cake/cupcakes for a more “frosting” look, but when I cleared out my supplies, Liquid Appliqué was in the giveaway box… oops. Instead I used Frosted Lace Stickles for sparkle.

This is the first time I used Memento Ink and I love it. It stamps a clear and crisp image compared to other ink pads I’ve previously used. I also colored the image using only Prismacolor Pencils; I’ve been busy watching You Tube videos on how to color/blend with Primsacolor Pencils without using blending mediums. I’m pleasantly surprised that I was able to accomplish blending without the use of Gamsol.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Jovi

  1. Adorable card. Great coloring. Memento Tuxedo Black is my favorite to use when coloring with Copics - no bleeding.

  2. Awwww, very cute card....and yes, time sure does fly.

  3. Adorable! She's going to love it! What a fun birthday you have planned. I bet it will be one she'll remember for years to come too!

I've never used gamsol, despite all the hubbub about it. I love the blendablility of prismacolor pencils without the use of blending mediums. I think gamsol is better used on other brands of colored pencils (jmho).

Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!

  4. Cute card!

It is scary how fast they grow up. I can't believe the baby I held on my chest to sleep will be graduating high school this year.

  5. Darling Jovi, I am sure your daughter loved this. Sounds like your getaway will be a grand day too!

  6. wow, i'm surprised that you colored this with Prisma pencils only! When i first looked at it, i assumed you used Copics! Great Job, coloring! Hard Rock cafe & Cheesecake factory... that's my fav. places too! lol! I bet your daughter luved this card!:-)

  7. Hi Jovi, what a cute card you have created for your daughter's birthday. I know what you mean about remembering when they were babies, seems like just yesterday sometimes. Your day out to celebrate her birthday sounds wonderful, lucky girl! Enjoy. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.

  8. Adorable card. Love your coloring..
