The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
(Kindle Edition)
"My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973."

So begins the story of Susie Salmon, who is adjusting to her new home in heaven, a place that is not at all what she expected, even as she is watching life on earth continue without her - her friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her killer trying to cover his tracks, her grief-stricken family unraveling.

I watched the trailer for the movie The Lovely Bones and I became interested with the story and before seeing the movie I wanted to read the book.  Parts of The Lovely Bones were very interesting and then other parts seemed to drag on.  I was upset towards the ending of the book when Susie comes down from Heaven into Ruth’s body and instead of telling someone about who killed her or where her body is… she uses Ruth’s body to have sex, what a disappointment.  Not the worst book I've ever read, but not the best either, looking forward to seeing how the movie measures up.
