A little of this and a little of that.

Spring / Digital Photography / Photoshop Elements

Awe the little bunnies remind me of Spring! This card went out as a RAK to a young lady who is currently passing time in Basic Training, I hope Tara enjoys it! I added White Fun Flock to both tails of the bunnies and added Crystal Stickles to the flowers to give them a little sparkle.

I'm taking these Digital Photography courses and the instructor has been recommending Adobe Photoshop Elements software to use for editing photos. I currently use Coral Paint Shop Pro X and I've been thinking about purchasing Adobe and then taking the Wizbang Course (Wizbang Course: the instructor demonstrates how to set/use your preferences, layer, tilting techniques... basically showing us how to use our software and what it can do for us). Since I can find my way around Coral I'm hoping I would be able to work with PS without getting too stressed! I just hate taking the time to learn new programs, especially when I could be spending that time stamping! If you use Photoshop Elements, please let me know what you like and/or dislike about it.

Through all my research I’ve came across some very talented ladies that use Photoshop Elements to create awesome digi scrap pages. Since I'm not in scrapbooking, I may have to take the leap into digi-scrapbooking, it looks like fun! Now I have to ask, for those of you that make digi scrap pages, what you do with the digi pages! Are they printable or how does that work... I know nothing about it!? I would really appreciate any info you can share with me. Thanks for reading – Jovi

  2. Cute, cute card! :)

I'm now using the professional version of Photoshop courtesy of my day job. However, for several years I used Elements for personal use (photo touchup and blog banner creation) as well as for my day job, and loved it. If it weren't for my job paying to upgrade, I wouldn't have switched. It's not a difficult program to maneuver, and it's powerful. Don't they have a trial you can download, also? You can email me if you have specific questions. :)

  3. I use PSE 5 for digital scrapbooking..I love it. I print out my layouts in 8x8 format and then put in a 9x9 album...I have to trim a little off the top and bottom, but I love the bit of white left around the layout..it pops the layout page.
There is a 30 day trial download for PSE 6...try it!
Hope this helps. Hugs, Dee in Oklahoma

  4. I just began using PSE. I need to take a class in it, though, otherwise I'll just learn what I need and not get beyond that. I bought it partially to learn the digi stuff. PSE has a newsletter to help learn to use it for digital scrapbooking ad cardmaking. My problem is I'm a "hands-on" learner and reading manuals just doesn't quite do it. I think you'd enjoy the software.

  5. I have PSE and CS3 thanks to taking a class at a local community college; I got the student price. I don't know either very well because I have not taken the time to really learn or play with. I am a little intimidated actually and would love to take an on line class or something. So, if you find one,let me know. Thanks, Hope

  6. oh, can't wait to see the responses to this. We are looking at having to get new computers and it comes with this program. YEAH, i was wondering if it is the same program! Thanks for posting this! I love your card, as always!
Please post if you find any online classes or tutorial for this program!

  7. Jovita, HOW ON EARTH did I miss that you made this card for my daughter??? wow, that is the sweetest thing ever, I am positive she will simply ADORE it, especially with the flock on it..and trust me, she will notice it! I love it, thank you so much, you are a total sweetie!!

  8. Hi Jovi, I was doing a google search for something (can't remember what now) and found your blog and just wanted to say I love your work! I have been digi scrapping for a couple years now and I love it. I use both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Elements being the cheaper of the two is still in my opinion a very powerful program and I really love it. For anyone interested in learning I highly recommend tutorials offered by http://jessicasprague.com/ or Linda Sattgast's CD's at www.scrappersguide.com. As far as printing goes, I print mine 12x12 size at shutterfly. I print individual pages and have complete albums printed in books.

  9. Oh ... it's me again ... I wanted to apologize for mispelling your name! Also wanted to say that I am not affiliated with any of the sites I recommended ... they are just sources I have used that I feel I can strongly recommend :)!

  10. Simple yet stunning! U Rock!

  11. This card is Adorable..I love it!!
I'm a PSP user too. I have PE 3..but I'm afraid I just haven't used it enough...I'm just so used to PSP.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I love reading them.
