Stamps for a cause...

A couple cards to share using Love You to Pieces, by GinaK Designs. For every set sold $8 goes directly to Autism Speaks.

For the card with the hearts, I used a technique called Reverse Masking. I stamped the heart image on a post it note, cut out the heart and then placed the cut out post it note over my stamped heart image, and then I stamped my puzzle pieces. It’s a really simple technique.

Eggs here and there and everywhere!

Every morning and evening we take Jake for a walk on this trail near our house. For the past week there has been a little bird sitting on the side of this trail, and every time we walk past this bird it squawks at us and opens its wings, but never flies away.

Last night I decided to take my camera along with me on our walk and we came upon this little bird again. When I zoomed in on her to take her photo I noticed that she had three eggs with her! We were so surprised. We had no idea she had eggs, her eggs blended in with the surrounding rocks. Riley and Austin thought it was so strange that she didn’t have nest for her eggs! I’m totally clueless about birds and have no idea what kind of bird she is, do any of you know what kind or why she doesn’t have a nest?

Then a little later on our trail we came across this nest with a beautiful egg inside. The momma bird was no where to be seen, but, I’m sure she was watching us. I’m assuming it’s a Robins Egg, because of the color!?

I couldn’t believe all the great things we found to take pictures of! I need to start taking my camera with me more often. Maybe this evening on our walk I’ll get a picture of the ducks and ten little ducklings.

I'm officially a bad blogger!

I’ve just had a lot of things going on this past week and nothing really exciting to share! I did make a huge decision last week about TAC, and I’ve already shared that news with my customers… everyone in blogosphere (a cool term from Jenns blog) will have to wait for the news!

I spent yesterday morning making some really cute & simple cards for some members of the House Mouse Group. I feel bad about sending out a “mass produce” card, but since I’ve been behind on BRAKs I thought they would still enjoy it.

For this set of cards I used the House Mouse stamp Make a Wish. I used White Liquid Appliqué and Glass Beads (Clear and Blue) to make the frosting look so yummy. While the Liquid Appliqué was still wet I added the Glass Beads and pushed them down a bit with my finger, then I heated the Liquid Appliqué. There it is… frosting with sprinkles that look good enough to eat!
