Prismacolors

I never made it to Michaels last week to look for Cuttlebug Folders… Keri suggested that I purchase the Folders from All that Scraps, they have super quick shipping and carry all of the Cuttlebug Folders.

I did go to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn’s. Hobby Lobby had all Spare Parts embellishments on sale 50% off, I picked up quite a few of those. At JoAnn’s I picked up a Fiskars Caddy to hold my Prismacolor Pencils (thanks Emily).

Last Mother’s Day, Riley and Austin bought me the 120 set of Prismacolor Pencils that come in a tin with trays. Those trays were such a hassle for me… I found it annoying to keep moving the tray’s around until I found the color I wanted. I picked up this canvas container at Sam’s Club just before Christmas (it was filled with Godiva yummies) and I thought it would be perfect. Plus, the canvas with brown matched my other storage containers in my stamp area. As it tuned out, it was more of a pain to find the pencil I wanted, at least when the pencils were in the trays I had them divided by color… here they were all clumped together. I definitely needed a more convenient way to store them.

I was reading one of Emily’s entries on her Bloggabella about the Fiskars Caddy that she picked up at JoAnn’s, I went to JoAnn’s that afternoon and bought one! I love it! I had a hard time deciding on what color I should get. The caddy comes in Light Green (the one Emily bought), Pale Yellow, a really pretty Powder Blue & the Rose that I purchased; I may go back and pick up one more…and it’s only $9.99.

Color Challenge

Ashley posted this color challenge yesterday, and thought I would give it a try! You can see Ashley’s thread here at SCS if you would like to participate. I don’t think I ever done a color challenge, but, I really enjoyed the colors that Ashley picked: Creamy Carmel, Sage Shadow & Bravo Burgundy. I may have to start looking into the color challenges at SCS & at A Shade of Blue (ASB).

I used my Big ShotBig Impression Daisies on the background. Thanks to Gina (GinaK) and the cards that she’s been adding on her blog, A Day in the Life, I had to go out and buy the started kit. Plus it helped that I had a 30% off coupon from Archiver's. The Big Impressions Kit is normally priced at $19.99 and you get 6 textures designs. Tomorrow (in between laundry) I’m going to find my way to Michaels and check out the Cuttlebug Folders… maybe I’ll pick some up. When I was at Michaels last week they only had one folder, a swirl pattern… and it looked like the package had been opened and messed with.

The stamp is from Stamping Bella, Walkabella… I had to get this stamp because of the dog… I’m such a dog lover. Hopefully Emily would design a Bella with a larger dog, hmmm, maybe a Labradoodle (hint, hint Emily if your reading this) *wink*

Ouch...

I had a terrible fall Friday night at JoAnn’s, I was getting out of the truck and step down and slipped on some black ice. My back (under my shoulder blade) hit the running board… ouch! It hurts like heck, I’m a bit bruised are really sore. I didn’t get any stamping accomplished this weekend. When I tried to use the paper cutter, that just made my back hurt more!

Even though I didn't get any stamping in, I did get a chance to go through the TAC catty to pick out free stamps that I’ll receive for my contest winning... yippee I can't wait. I’m sure I’ll be okay in a couple of days and by then I should have some more cards to show.

I Won... again

I found out this morning that I won another TAC contest! Once again I entered the Terrific Trio Contest (make 3 cards using only 2 TAC stamp sets). The two stamp sets I used were Toadally In Love and Love Always, these are the cards I submitted.

For the first card, the envelopes and hearts are on stamped on acetate with Cotton White StazOn and then I colored in the hearts from the backside with a Red Sharpie.

The second card, all cardstock is from Bazzill (Reed, Heather, & Walnut). I also used Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol to color the image and I added some sparkle by using the Stardust Gelly Pen from Sakura.

The third card is my favorite… and I don’t really like frogs! It’s my favorite because of the colors and layout. Again all the papers are Bazzill (my favorite cardstock), the colors are Petunia, Lily Pad & Pinecone. I actually used the backside of Pinecone, that way the small detailed stamp would show up better on the smooth side.

Another Bella...

So far I’ve had a really busy week and didn’t get much stamping accomplished like I planned. I did manage to get one more Grumpabella made today… I think she’s my favorite, until I purchase more *wink, wink*... If you have a chance, take a peek inside Christie Ortman’s SCS Gallery (lovinmy4boys) she has a whole album dedicated to Bella.

The patterned paper is from TAC’s Wing It Collection, Rustic Chic. The textured Brown, Robin's Egg & White is also from TAC, Certainly Celery is from Stampin Up. I used Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol to color in the image.

Unmounted Stamps

While I was surfing the forums over at The Stamp Shack a couple day’s ago, I came across this thread posted by Erin about working with and storing unmounted stamps. In the thread were a couple You Tube videos. I thought I would share them with you!

Working with Unmounted Stamps:
This video demonstrates two ways you can use your unmounted rubber stamps with acrylic blocks. The video discusses using EZMount foam and double-sided tape.

Storing Unmounted Stamps:
This video demonstrates three ways to store your unmounted rubber stamps. The video discusses using CD cases, laminated storage panels and plastic baggies.

You have to check out the whimsical images at Pink Cat Studio, I can get addicted!

Grumpabella

It was a great mail day ... my Canon 200EG backpack came today. It’s so amazing, I can’t wait to get my camera gear loaded in it! It’s big enough to fit 2 camera bodies, 3-4 lens and extra room for accessories. It even has tripod carrying straps! I’m just so excited I had to share, okay on to stamp talk…

This is the Bella card that I made last night, Grumpabella. I knew this stamp was right from me, I’m so grumpy in the am until I have my coffee… then I’m the sweetest thing ever! LOL

Isn’t the paper striking? It’s from Close to My Heart (CTMH), Just Chillin Paper Packet. The colors are White Daisy, Ocean, Dessert Sand & Vineyard Berry. I particularly like the striped paper. I have to admit that I would have never used Ocean if it wasn’t in the pack… it’s really intense for my taste. Grumpabella is from Stamping Bella. Emily has added quite a few new Bellas to her site, take a peek if you have a chance.

House Mouse

My little Mice have been feeling neglected these days! I was able to pull them out and make a couple of cards for my Yahoo House Mouse stamping buddies (Best of House Mouse). If you’re a House Mouse addict, check us out and we love to have you join us. The more the merrier… right?!

This card went in a totally different direction then what I had planned for it. I originally wanted to have my cardstock colors be pastels… then I came across this incredible red textured cardstock that I didn’t even knew I had! I have a tendency to purchase things, bring them home and find a place for them. I don’t like to have things sitting out when I’m not using them… and that leads to me forgetting that I purchased it! Anyway, once I had it all laid out, I didn’t like the way the image looked on the white cardstock… I tried to darken it up by sponging it with Burnt Umber, which seemed to work (except in the pic, it looks a lot lighter).

I used I Give You My Heart from Stampabilites, Crackle Background from TAC and the incredible red textured cardstock I picked up at Archivers (sorry I don’t know who makes it).

Bryan has poker tonight, so I’m planning on getting some stamping in… I have some cute Bella stamps that are dying to be inked!

SCS Sketch Challenge

I finished my Sketch Challenge (SC106) today… hooray for me! I’ve only used definition stamps as a background and never as the main image, so I’m pretty excited with the end results!

This card took me FOREVER to make! I couldn’t decide which ribbon I wanted to use and what size spiral clip. When I finally made my ribbon choice, I couldn’t make a knot that I was happy with… so I retied over and over and over. Finally I said “what the heck” (using nice language for my readers), I just looped it through!

I also had problems getting the Inspire definition centered. I really wanted to get it centered on my own… I have no idea why, and for those of you that know me personally… you all know how stubborn I can be! LOL After cutting and stamping 5+ times I reached for my Stamp Positioner and had it centered the first time!

My Stamp Positioner does the same thing as the Stamp-a-majig, but it is a lot nicer to work with… it has a larger corner cove. I picked it up through CTMH before they switched to the clear stamps.

Anyway… The stamps & papers are all from TAC. Stamp sets, Well Defined Backgrounds & Flourishes. The really pretty patterned paper is from the Fly With It Collection, Genevieve.

Another card made with Paisley Rockz, this set can easily turn into one of my favorites!

I made this card for last weeks SCS Sketch Challenge (SC105). I got a really late start on it (I was out of town when the Sketch was originally posted). The Sketch for this week should be posted in a couple of hours and I’m planning on working on that tomorrow… I can’t wait, especially since I have more new TAC stamps that I want to play with... gotta love new stamps!

Paisley Rockz

Yesterday was my sister’s birthday, and this is the card I made for her. I think she was pleasantly surprised that the main image wasn’t a hedgehog or mouse! LOL

The stamp is TAC’s Paisley Rockz, it was one of the many that I received from my contest winning. The patterned paper is Rustic Chic, from TAC’s Wing It Collection.
