Stacking the Shelves #7

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves; may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

These are the books I added to my shelves this week:

The Black Witch (The Black Witch Chronicles #1) by Laurie Forest – There has been quite a lot of controversy surrounding this book (racism, misogyny, ableism, homophobia) and many people instructed others to stay away from it and not read it. There have been controversial books in the past, even the bible, I’m stubborn and want to read it myself.

Shuffle,Repeat by Jen Klein - I thought this book was fantastic and truly enjoyed reading it, one of my favorites of 2017. I’ll try to get the review posted soon.

June wants high school to end and real life to begin. Oliver is soaking up senior year’s glory days. They could have coasted through high school, knowing about—but not really knowing—each other.

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas – I haven’t read Book #1 or #2 in the series. I did read that this series by Sarah J. Maas appears to be her fans favorite of her series.

And what I added to Kindle this week:

Courted (Gowns & Crowns #1) by Jennifer Chance – Determined to get clarity, Emmaline accepts a friend's offer for a whirlwind European vacation. First Stop: a real live fantasy kingdom--the perfect place to sort wishes from reality.

Tempt the Boss by Natasha Madison – Another single parent contemporary romance, I enjoy those.

Going back to work was supposed to be a painless transition, but when my new boss turns out to be an arrogant, cocky jerk, he quickly turns my professional life into a world of torture. Okay, fine, calling him an asshat before knowing he was my boss wasn't my finest moment.

Indivisible Souls (Bound4Ireland #3) by Tricia Daniels – I’m going to have to read book #1 and #2 in the series again, I need a refresher on what happened in those books. I really wanted Oliva and Ethan to get their happy ending.

Love Is The Only True Magic, For Only The Ardent Love Of Two Bound Souls, Transcends All Time.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has added to their shelves this week, thanks for visiting and happy reading. -J

    1. I'm currently adding the Throne of Glass series to my shelves. Someone mentioned that I should start with her first series before reading A Court of Thorns and Roses because he writing gets better along the way. I'm thinking of just jumping into this series since I have all the books. Have a wonderful day.

  8. Hi, The Court of Thorns and Roses series is overated. It's all hyped up God knows why. I am currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury and I don't know if I can get through it without boring myself to death. There are a lot of words but nothing of substance tbh. I know that's just my opinion but on a brighter note the cover of Wings and Ruin is beautiful!

    1. Hi Jackie, I know you're not alone and I have to agree with all the hype, I'm actually surprised by it. I just happened to be reading a post on FB yesterday from a buddy read group... "I'll admit that Maas writes good stories but she is truly the queen of repetition, and if this story goes the way I think it will I might trow this book at the wall..." and there was this post " I got through the series and am working on ACOWAR, but I am not a huge fan like everyone else. I am not in love with any of them and cannot read her books quickly as I get bored".

I just hope I don't get bored and lose interest. Thank you for your honest opinion and for visiting.
