Moose-rable

I realize that a moose is usually used for a masculine card, and this moose is masculine since his name is Lester (Inky Antics) but I loved the sentiment “It’s moose-rable without you here”! (which is on the inside). I wanted to send this card to my niece Moriah. Moriah is in her first year of collage at Norte Dame. This is the first time that she’s really been away from family and we all miss her. I made sure to use pink and brown to make it a feminine moose card.

This is another image that I blended Prismacolor Pencils with Baby Oil. Now that I’ve been playing around with baby oil and blending I really like it… plus it smells great. I first heard of using baby oil from a really sweet friend Keri. Keri started using baby oil instead of Gamsol when she was pregnant. I just never tried it until recently. I was worried that the oil would drip onto the cardstock leaving a stain, but the stump soaks it up just like with Gamsol, so there are no drips. I don’t dilute the baby oil. I just squirt a small amount into one of those measuring caps that come on the laundry detergent containers and then just blend like I would Gamsol. Give it a try and let me know what you think... oh the card size is 3.5 x 8 ~ Jovi

Stamps: Lester (Inky Antics), Moose-rable (Inky Antics) ~ Paper: Chocolate (CTMH), White, Patterned Paper Jewel Pack (Colorbok) ~ Ink: Noir (Palette) ~ Other: Matte Bazzill Brads, Cream Ribbon (TAC), Distresser, Prismacolor Pencils blended with Baby Oil

  5. I have been using baby oil exclusively since I immediately got a headache when I used odorless mineral spirits. (I get headaches very easily.) It works fine for me and I, too, like the smell! Your moose is sooo cute!

  7. This card cracked me up, thanks for the smile, Jovi! I am really going to have to try the baby oil as I am allergic to the toxic smell of the OMS I use. It makes me sneeze and feels like it is burning my nose hairs. LOL Definitely not good symptoms right?

  13. I had heard about the baby oil method a while ago but had never seen anyone actually use it. This looks great! Personally, I don't use a blending solution of any type with my prismacolor pencils and I blend color over color, but I think now, if I do use some type of solution, I'll follow your advice. This looks nice!
