First Day of School... already!

Riley and Austin went back to school today. It seems like their summer vacation went by so fast. Both of them were really excited to see some of their classmates again. It was really quiet at home and for the first couple of hours I was kind of lonesome without them. But… I was able to finish up on a couple projects today.

Here’s one card to share. Isn’t the corner accent cute? The Close to My Heart catalogs always have some great tips and techniques to share and this was one of them “Creating Cute Corner Accents”.

Step 1: Fold a 2x2 piece of paper/cardstock in half twice, creating quarters. Unfold the paper.

Step 2: Fold the corners in toward the middle of the fold. This creates the corner that will show.

Step 3: Attach a concho to the two corner folds. Thread ribbon through the concho holes and tie for a finished look.

Instead of conchos I used red eyelets. You can also use a smaller piece of paper/cardstock for smaller corners. Don’t be surprised to see more of these corner accents on my cards… I really like the look of them and it's a quick and easy embellishment! Thanks for visiting.

Stamps: Garden Gossip (Penny Black) ~ Ink: Noir (Palette) ~ Paper: Buttercup, Cranberry, Garden Green (all CTMH), White, Let’s Get Together patterned paper (CTMH) ~ Other: Real Red Eyelets (SU), Grosgrain Ribbon (SU), Chalk, Glossy Accent’s, Pop Dots, Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol, Sand Paper
